Pop Culture

Let me just start off by saying nothing bothers me more than pop culture.  I hate walking through my house and seeing US magazine or People magazine with tiger woods on the cover.  It just bothers me that a magazine that literally just shows pictures of people and makes speculations based on those pictures can be successful.  Along with the fact that these magazines make money, they bother people in the process.  It would bother me beyond belief if I was eating lunch and some guy was sitting just outside a window taking pictures of me going on a date.  Then when I left there would be people continuing to take pictures but not being discrete at all.  They would be all in my face while I am just trying to enjoy my date.  Everyone gets pissed of when their boundaries are crossed, but when celebrities over react because a photographer got all in his and his dates face its all over the news.  The celebrities are called impatient or jerks when in reality no one should have to have a camera shoved in front of their face when they are trying to learn about another person.  I know if I were on a date and some random guy came up in my face and started yelling and telling me to smile for the camera or started proclaiming things that were not true, I would be irate and would probably react in the same way as some of the celebrities.  I understand when they throw cameras or yell bad things at the photographers that follow them because I feel that over time the anger builds up and sometimes you just have to let it go.  A message has to be sent sometimes.  You can not always get pushed around your whole life.  Celebrities did not get where they are because they are push overs.  They got there because they know when to act and how to act.  They are not dumb people that just randomly got lucky.  A part of it is lucky but these actions are because they are fed up and I understand. 

         It is sad that people like my sister has to buy the 100 dollar shirt instead of the 10 dollar one, just because Miley Cyrus wears it.  The celebrity world has created women to overspend when it is not needed and even men do the same thing.  They buy a 30 dollar shirt when it can be 5 for basically the same thing.

I wish that for just a little bit people would not follow whatever celebrities do and actually think for themselves for once.  Sometimes people need a wakeup call that shows them that life is not about buying everything and instead about other stuff.
